Creative Journaling for Wellbeing

Description
This program offers an experience of discovering what creative journaling means, what it entails and how it benefits us both mentally, emotionally and creatively. Each week we will explore the many ways of using this form of expression. It is an experiential course.
Week 1: A Sense of Clarity
Starting with an understanding of what journalling is, why we do it and what happens when we commit to it. Engaging in some nurturing exercises.
Week 2: Distilling my True Feelings and Needs
Discovering a means of having effective ways to process emotions and thoughts is incredibly beneficial. Delving into the range of emotions and how to express them.
Week 3/4: Shifting Creative Blocks
Delving into what it means to be blocked creatively and how we can use the journal to examine how and why this is happening. Using exercises to encourage movement or shifts out of being stuck.
Week 5: Inner Child Work
This week involves checking in with our younger self, and how it is so important to be aware of how our inner child/teenager shows themselves in our adult lives. Play is vital this week!!
Week 6: A Sense of Possibility
Looking at our limited notion of what we can achieve, limiting beliefs and how to nurture spontaneity. Exercises in forbidden joys!
Week 7: Conclusion
Putting together a plan for yourself going forward regarding what means of journaling works best for you and how you can continue to support your well-being through creativity.

Holistic Psychotherapist, Shaman and Artist based at The Healers’ Dance, Mental Health and Well Being Centre in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
Working 1-1 with adults and adolescents using art, creativity and movement to promote wellness and healing. Margot is specifically interested in healing trauma through creativity and connecting with nature. She runs outdoor workshops, facilitates The Artists’ Way 12 Week programme and runs mindfulness classes to promote a greater connection to self and others.
