Whether you are a performer, musician, actor, or someone who is called upon to speak publicly from time to time, either in a professional or personal capacity, connecting with your audience is essential.
Promoting yourself and your work, delivering a message, telling your story, all depend on your voice and ability to speak with confidence.
This course draws on learnings from the RIAM’s long history and experience in performance, drama, and voice, to develop confident and effective communication skills. Our experienced coach will utilise a range of professional actor training techniques to help you to become a more effective public speaker and “Find Your Voice”.
Fear of public speaking is reported to be one of the most common phobias, and while you may be very highly skilled in your chosen field, when it comes time to speak publicly, having the ability to speak in a natural and authentic voice is a skill that should be nurtured.
The rehearsal room of the actor includes the exploration of vocal techniques, relaxation, breath control and movement, building a connection with the text and ultimately the audience. We bring awareness of these concepts and more to the area of public speaking. Our focus will be on relevant content, specific to participants’ needs with useful activities, practical exercises and guidance based on individual goals in a warm and encouraging environment.
