For 6th-year students who have completed their studies on the higher level Leaving Certificate Music course Set A, this is a complete revision course looking at all aspects of the two written papers over the course of the two days.
RIAM Leaving Cert expert and award-winning lecturer, Kim Fallen Bailey, reveals the mysteries of the Composition and Listening papers, including:
- Set works
- Unprepared listening test
- Irish music
- Melody writing
- Harmony and counterpoint
Participants will receive a detailed revision handbook, lots of information, advice, exam hints, and plenty of supportive discussions.

Ability:
- 6th Year Higher Level Music Students
Tech:
- Laptop with good internet connection & camera. (for Zoom participation)
- Earphones are useful but not essential.
- Notes will be provided but must be downloaded and printed prior to the class.

Kim Fallen Bailey graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an Honours Degree in Music Education and a Commendation Award for Teaching. Her work in Crannog Nua Special School involves teaching music to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. She is the founder and director of Ceol Draíochta music school, where she teaches piano and theory and provides vocal training and Grinds for Junior and Leaving Cert students.
Kim delivers the 2-year Leaving Cert Music course in the RIAM. She designed and delivers the Foundations for Leaving Cert Music 1-year preparatory course and also developed and directs the e-course, Teaching Leaving Cert Music.
