Orff Schulwerk Association Spring Workshop at RIAM
Orff-Schulwerk Association Ireland (OSAI) Spring workshop at RIAM
Description
On Sunday 6th April 2025 the Royal Irish Academy of Music will host the Orff-Schulwerk Association Ireland (OSAI) Spring workshop in the Vernon Studio, RIAM.
Registration 10:00 AM, Workshop 10:15 AM – 4:30 PM (includes lunch break - no lunch provided)
The workshop is particularly suitable for all teachers and musicians who work in education or community settings with children aged 4 to 8 but will also be invaluable to students, classroom teachers, instrumental teachers and anyone who works creatively with music, movement and arts education with children and young people.
The Orff Approach is an inclusive and creative approach to music and dance education.
It is a way of teaching music based on the essential relationship between music, movement and the spoken word, with three themes to bind them: rhythm, improvisation and form.
The method is also known as Orff Schulwerk and evolved out of the creative ideas and work of the composer Carl Orff and the music educator Gunild Keetman.
Whether you are teacher of music in schools, an instrumental teacher, a community musician, a speech and language therapist, a teaching assistant or a parent, or as someone interested in integrating music into their work, this workshop will be a door opener to include the ORFF Approach in your future music teaching practice.
