Beginner level group lessons for Classical Piano with RIAM teaching faculty
Please note:
All Adult Division Instrumental/Voice Group classes are Evening Classes and will take place between 6:00 and 9:00 PM. (with an individual duration of 1 hour)
The date and time displayed above (Monday 19th September 9:30 AM) is not the date and time for the classes to take place, but merely indicates the beginning of the RIAM's next Academic year.
The day and class times differ from course to course and are subject to registrations of interest received. We are currently offering classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. An individual class offer will be sent to you upon receiving your registration.
Please appreciate that we may not be able to match your personal preference for a class day and time, but we will try to be as flexible as possible (subject to the overall AD class schedule).
With group lesson programmes available for beginners to advance level playing adults, sign up for RIAM led adult group classes by completing the application form.
Courses available include:
Beginners: 10 weeks of group lessons (3 in a group)
Intermediate: 12 weeks of lessons (3 in a group), including a guaranteed 1:1 lesson with your tutor
The course programmes are designed to ensure that your learning outcomes are based upon your experience when you begin, and what you wish to achieve during your course of study.
There are no mandatory exams or assessments with Adult Division group lessons, but can be agreed with your tutor through the duration of your course.
Group classes can look forward to a faculty expert leading their classes, as well as a formative learning environment through peer to peer learning. Class concerts and recordings will present fun and motivational challenges for you and your study colleagues.

are suitable for absolute beginners. This 10-week evening course offers adults the opportunity to develop Classical piano skills from scratch.
Taught through small group classes, this intensive immersion in Classical piano will help beginners assimilate foundation skills and technique in a collaborative and encouraging environment.
The teacher will focus on reading notation, hand position, scales and arpeggios and elementary improvisation.
Motivated students will be invited to sign up for Beginner Piano Classes (Part 2) in the Spring/Summer term.
Students must be 18+
